It was a fine day, like many others before it. True, a tad bit cold, and the light sprinkles of chilled sea water which constantly flung themselves over the cliff face helped matters little. Seabirds shrilly screamed into the windy air, the din of their rather unattractive song mixing sweetly with the constant rolling of the sea. It seemed, that near the sea one could simply close their eyes, and be somewhere else entirely. The cresting and crashing of foamy white waves was a steady lullaby, if you listened long enough it’s song was enough to send you into a calm state in which your mind was far from your body-strange stuff really.

Upon this cliff lounged a young woman, slight and roughly dressed-she looked far from the hardly adventurer type oft related to having exciting travels, but the girl tried. She was resting between two rough boulders, one she used as a back rest, the other as support for her sore feet. The light breeze was just enough to be a nuisance, and the youth tried to ignore the fact that her wild mane of curls was breaking free of its flimsy restraints. She focused her mind upon the rather painful blisters her now travel worn boots had rubbed into her flesh, true the though was not pleasant, but at it did not involve messing with hair. For some reason Dari thought it best to keep her boots on, despite the act that they hurt her feet, she knew the eventually the blisters would callus, and then be of no further worry-so why fret over it now when there are better things to ponder?

Evadari’s eyes had been kept tightly shut against the salty air billowing about her, she had tried to filter out the long walk ahead, tried to focus on the beautiful sounds of the sea, but she had to admit, it was a bit dull. Eyes cracked upon a bit, revealing only a slight glimmer of dark amber-Dari recalled having had someone once relate the color of her eyes to that of the color of a cats, a strange statement that to say the least, strangely enough the statement always came back to the girl, she wondered often whether or not it had been a compliment. Clouds parted yonder to reveal a harsh gleam of gold, and with that, like a turtle recoiling into its shell Evadari had clamped her eyes shut again, not wanting to have to endure the faint light that was at the present as blinding as any sun upon a blazing summers day.

The youths muscles had tensed slightly from the surprise entrance of the sun, but as she comfortably settle back down against the rocky terra she recoiled. Unlike many Dari had the strange habit of finding comfort in fairly uncomfortable places, like this cliff for example, nothing was sot, but it was consistent, the rocks beneath her stayed beneath her, which made a firm and unmoving bed-quite the bargain on any part.

In the back of her mind the girl knew she should be off. The scent of rain clung to the air, the moistness was ever apparent. In her mind the girl saw herself rise and move over to the slab of stone she had left her things upon, she’d gather them, look for Fen, and then be off, leaving this repetitious place behind. But, unlike the Dari in her mind, the Dari lounging atop the cliff did not budge, nor did she truly intend to. Or, that was until a slobber laden lick wound its way to her cheek which had been in moments past decently dry. The girl drew back in shock, her sudden movement caused her head to be whacked quite painfully against the stone behind her, resulting in a slight yelp of surprise which echoed oddly throughout the area.
Rubbing the back of her head Evadari glared over at her mangy friend. Fen, seeming quite proud at himself lifted his tail and let his blotchy tongue loll out in a pleasant fashion. Sometimes the youth wonder what it was like to have such a long tongue, she stared at the pinky thing for a moment her eyes questioning-she then told herself to snap out of it, and rose to her aching feet. “Look here Fen,” The girl started her tones frustrated, though slightly amused, "I was having a nice nap there before you came and dropped half the ocean on my face!” She whipped some of the sticky goo off of her face still glaring at the ever happy Fen. Then rolling her eyes the girl plopped back down, not at all intending to move, not just yet, “I suppose you proud of yourself, huh?” The girl then spoke in softer tones as she gazed at her furry friend with affection. As though he understood the dog gave an cheerful bark, his tail wagged from side to side before he turned and loped off behind Dari, his attention now elsewhere. After he left the girl tried yet again to settle into her cat-nap, though her ever questioning mind raced on.
